"Grow Again" Humanities Revelation.

Throughout your life, you may fall and need to rebuild again. This art piece titled, "Grow Again" by DestinyBlue is a very accurate representation of this experience. The painting "Grow Again" depicts a forest landscape. If you pay attention you may see many of the forests' trees are cut down to nothing but a stump. These eight stumps have been cut down by something and they must start over and grow tall again. The piece is a primarily green and brown color palette which helps bring life to the forest landscape. The focus of this painting is a young girl whose body seems to be the texture of a natural tree. Now, the meaning of this piece is perceived through a glowing flower that has sprung out of the young girl's hand. All parts of "Grow Again" pertain to the subject matter of the piece, which makes its form impressive. The color schemes, texture, shapes, and small details all work together in harmony. For example, the girl lying down relates to the cut-down trees in the back. The small greenery detailing on the girl's body and hair shows growth in relation to the budding flower. The girl's wood-like skin connects her to the trees that must also grow.

The piece has significant meaning to me as when you are knocked down in life you may feel defeated. You may feel as if you should just sink into the ground as the girl appears to be doing. However, a small glimpse of hope can enchant power. The piece symbolizes growth even when you've fallen, an inspirational reminder to myself and many others. I look at this piece when I feel hopeless and lost; when I don't know how to get back up. The painted girl emphasizes that there is always light when you feel surrounded by darkness. However, sometimes you have to cultivate this light yourself. "Grow Again" is an eloquent and bittersweet image of getting back up when you've lost a battle in life. It has a subtle reminder that it was only a battle and not the war. Your fight with life is not yet over and you still have much beauty and light to experience such as the small hopeful flower produced in the girl's hand.
